Our data center will perform periodic maintenance power generator. Below you will find the information.
Subject: Black building emergency power test BIT-2
Urgency: Planned
Time window: (CET time)
- 09/12/2025 05:00 hrs - 09/12/2025 7:00 hrs
Customer intervention required: No
Reference number: 201848
Summary:
On Tuesday, December 9th between 5:00 hrs and 7:00 hrs we will perform a black building emergency power test at BIT-2.
Details:
During this maintenance, we will switch off the main power supply for the entire location BIT-2 for 60 minutes to test our emergency power systems. During this test, BIT engineers will be present at all required locations to monitor the situation, so they can intervene if necessary. In the days leading up to the black building test, we will perform a deep battery discharge test. This is done because we will also run on battery before running on generators. This discharge test will be performed on both feeds separately.

Our upstream provider was conducting emergency maintenance when a human error occurred, resulting in a short network interruption. They will be addressing this issue internally to prevent such incidents in the future.
Additionally, we are taking steps to expand our network to prevent such interruptions in the future.
Affecting Other - Network
Our upstream provider is currently experiencing issues with IPv6 routing. This will be resolved as soon as possible.
Affecting Other - Network
We currently experience occasional higher latency from and to the Liberty Global (Ziggo) network. We have created a ticket with our upstream provider about this issue.

Subject: Maintenance UPS sets BIT-2B
Urgency: Planned
Time window:
26/05/2023 00:00 hrs - 26/05/2023 07:00 hrs
Expected impact:
- Possible loss of power redundancy
Customer intervention required: No
Summary:
On Friday, May 26th, between 00:00 and 07:00 hrs, our supplier will perform maintenance on our UPS sets BIT-2B. During this maintenance, at least one power feed will remain continuously available.
Details:
For this maintenance, the UPS systems will be put in bypass mode one by one. This is not expected to cause any interruption in the power supply on the feed that is being maintained. If you have received warnings from BIT that your total power consumption is close to the limit, it is advisable to take action before this maintenance.
If during this maintenance the feed of the relevant UPS set is interrupted, which we do not expect, then the other feed will be available as normal. We once again recommend that you check that all your equipment is connected to both feeds.

17:30 Response from AMS-IX: We had indeed crash on three router linecards at one of the fourteen locations of the AMS-IX. Those cards crashed for an unknown cause. They were subsequently rebooted, but then another crash occurred. We then diverted the traffic to a backup router.

A major network provider in Amsterdam, Cogent Communications is experiencing network problems. Customers may experience problems when internet traffic is handled via Cogent.
Update 11:05: This problem is escalated/reported already to Cogent.
Update 11:20: Unfortunately, we cannot disable the port with Cogent as we are in touch with them to resolve this problem and we need to check it every time when we do changes. This problem is not affecting all traffic via Cogent but only in some directions.
Update 13:05: We have just received confirmation that the problem has been resolved, we were not told what the cause was.
